Company Description Silver Storm Mining Ltd. is a growth-focused mining company centered on advanced-stage silver projects in Durango, Mexico.

Role Description

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Direct and oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive monthly financial statements in accordance with applicable IFRS.
  • Deliver variance analyses and financial insights to executive leadership to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with audit and compliance working closely with external auditors and tax advisors. 
  1. Internal Controls
  • Establish, enhance, and enforce robust internal control policies and financial procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local statutory requirements and tax filings.
  • Direct the coordination of external financial audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and other stakeholders.
  1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management
  • Collaborate and exercise leadership on annual budget preparation, dynamic financial modeling, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Oversee working capital management, monitoring treasury position and cash flows.
  1. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate members of the finance and accounting team.
  • Evaluate and implement financial management software, accounting technology, and automation tools to optimize workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Designation: CPA designation required.
  • Experience working in a Big4 or a mining company.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience.
  • 3+ years in a senior role.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP accounting systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex data analysis) and other Microsoft packages.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax regulations, statutory reporting, and financial compliance.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
  • High level of integrity, ethical standards, and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
