MAINTENANCE PERSON

Operations Area: Area #5B – Duntroon Operations Centre and group of schools

Status: Permanent

Hours: 8 hours per day; 40 hours per week

Shift: As required

Posting #: CU-60

Qualifications And Skills Required

Knowledge of building trades and be mechanically inclined.
Knowledge and experience in the use of power tools and construction equipment.
Knowledge of maintenance methods, procedures, general building repairs, building interior systems, exterior building fabric and grounds maintenance.
Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams and shop drawings.
Good communication skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, work from ladders, power lifts, and scaffolding.
Excellent organizational, scheduling and time management skills.
Valid Ontario drivers licence is required and proof will be requested on hiring.
Computer literacy sufficient to operate Facility Services Maintenance Work Order System and MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and general repairs across the Duntroon Operations Centre and assigned schools, including work on building systems, exterior structures, and grounds. Use power tools and construction equipment, interpret blueprints and shop drawings, and complete physically demanding tasks as required.
