Who We Are

Help build B.C.’s new medical school from the ground up!

At the SFU Medical School, we envision a medical education system where students and residents learn as part of a team in primary care and other community-level settings, in patient-centered environments, and with a curriculum that considers social, environmental and prevention contexts. As we establish the school in Surrey, B.C., our growing relationships with the local community, Fraser Health Authority, First Nations Health Authority, physicians and Indigenous partners will help us to meet the diverse health needs of the communities we serve and improve access to primary care throughout the province. We seek to advance reconciliation by embedding and equalizing Indigenous knowledge systems in our learning, research and practices while resting on a solid foundation of high-quality, accredited education and world-class research efforts that keep us oriented toward measurable, socially accountable outcomes.
About The Role

The Senior Business Solutions Analyst will help shape the systems, processes and data infrastructure that support the continued growth of SFU’s Stephens Family School of Medicine. This role will translate complex business and operational needs into practical, scalable solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making and enhance the delivery of medical education programs and services. Working closely with senior leaders, faculty, staff, learners and technology partners, the role will lead initiatives spanning business analysis, workflow redesign, process automation, system implementation, data analytics, reporting and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to build innovative digital solutions using tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Microsoft Lists, while developing dashboards, KPIs and decision-support products for leadership. As the School continues to evolve, this role will contribute to new system implementations, operational modernization, reporting and governance frameworks, and large-scale transformation initiatives - helping establish sustainable infrastructure for the school’s future.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical and solutions-oriented professional who can translate complex business needs into effective systems, processes and actionable insights. They bring strong experience in business analysis, process and workflow optimization, data analytics, business intelligence, reporting and automation, with the ability to design scalable digital solutions using tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Microsoft Lists. Strong project management, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and change management skills are essential. The successful candidate is a critical thinker with sound judgment, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Experience in healthcare or post-secondary environments, data governance, Indigenous data sovereignty and culturally safe practices would be an asset.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration and five years of related experience, including operational management, strategic planning, project management, personnel management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Business Analysis & Solution Design – Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable systems, workflows and effective digital solutions.
Data Analytics & Reporting – Strong expertise in data analysis, KPI development, business intelligence, dashboards and decision-support reporting.
Process Automation & Technology – Experience designing automated workflows and digital solutions using tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Microsoft Lists.
Project & Change Management – Ability to lead complex initiatives, facilitate cross-functional collaboration and support organizational change and process modernization.
Strategic Thinking & Stakeholder Engagement – Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
