The Gift Processing Officer (Contract) reports to the Director, Finance and works with the Finance team to provide financial services to the Foundation. The role supports gift processing activities primarily for Sinai Health Foundation, and also for Arthritis Research Foundation and Hennick Bridgepoint Foundation, handling a wide variety of processes and procedures related to philanthropic contributions.

The Gift Processing Officer (Contract) analyzes gift and donation information and documentation from various sources and updates donors' records as appropriate. The position processes all forms of gifts and pledges through the Foundation's database, generating records and receipts.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Process gifts received via multiple channels - mail, phone calls, online – for Sinai Health Foundation and related Foundations
Ensure quality, integrity and accuracy of donor information for portfolios such as major gifts, annual giving, events and third-party portals, stock donations, gifts-in-kind and monthly donors processed through EFT
Support gift imports from external sources across all three Foundations, ensuring correct and timely recordkeeping, and updated payment information
Ensure accurate coding of incoming donation revenue by Foundation and designation
Reconcile multiple online donation platforms on a daily and weekly basis
Generate thank you letters and charitable tax receipts in accordance with Foundation guidelines
File and archive all electronic and hard copy donation documents (e.g. proposals, donor gift agreements, gift processing forms, gift change forms, Raiser’s Edge batch and posting information, stock receipts, campaign coupons and related correspondence) to support a complete audit trail
Respond to fundraising teams regarding inquiries related to how gifts are recorded or split
Maintain knowledge of Raisers’ Edge database functions, organizational processes and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Post-Secondary education in business administration, accounting or finance, or equivalent professional experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in gift processing or accounting, preferably in the philanthropy sector
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or another relational database, and an aptitude for data management and analysis
Proven ability to effectively manage day-to-day gift processing functions
Keen understanding of current finance and accounting principles in the philanthropy sector
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Able to meet deadlines, be self-motivated, and work independently
Able to work with sensitive information with absolute discretion and a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented attitude
Ability to work collaboratively and be a team player
Action-oriented; competency in problem solving
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment

This position has a compensation range of $54,403 to $68,004. The hiring range is $54,403 to $59,526.

Sinai Health Foundation is a hybrid workplace, located in downtown Toronto. This position is in office Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
