About Us
At Singles Date Vancouver, we are redefining how Vancouverites meet and connect. In a world dominated by endless swiping and digital fatigue, we bring real human connection back into focus through well-curated, vibrant, and fun singles mixers, speed-dating events, and unique social experiences across Metro Vancouver.
We are looking for a charismatic, highly organized, and dependable Event Host & Experience Coordinator to be the welcoming face and operational backbone of our live events.
The Role & Opportunity
You will be responsible for creating an inviting, safe, and fun environment for our attendees from start to finish. This role starts as part-time (primarily Monday through Friday evenings, approximately 8–15 hours/week to start), with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role as we expand our event calendar, private experiences, and community programming across the Lower Mainland.
What You’ll Do
Be the Host & Welcome Energy: Greet attendees, check guests in smoothly, set an approachable tone, and help break the ice so everyone feels comfortable.
On-Site Operations & Time Management: Manage event pacing, cue rotations (speed dating intervals, activities), keep schedules tight, and ensure smooth transitions throughout the evening.
Venue & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with venue managers, bartenders, and staff before, during, and after events to ensure setup, logistics, and teardown run seamlessly.
Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: Tactfully handle unexpected situations - whether that involves troubleshooting venue logistics, managing seating adjustments, de-escalating uncomfortable interactions, or addressing intoxicated/unruly guests with empathy and professionalism.
Community Engagement: Foster an inclusive, respectful atmosphere where participants feel valued, safe, and excited to return.
Event Wrap-up & Reporting: Collect attendee feedback, summarize event turnouts and highlights, report venue notes, and collaborate with the core team to continuously elevate the guest experience.
Who You Are
Dependable, Reliable & Responsible: You show up early, take ownership of the room, and follow through on every detail without needing constant supervision.
Natural People Skills & High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): You read the room effortlessly, connect naturally with diverse personalities, and make people feel at ease instantly.
Sharp Time Management: You know how to command attention kindly and stick to an agenda without making guests feel rushed.
Cool Under Pressure: When things don’t go according to plan, you remain calm, think on your feet, and find practical solutions quickly.
Polished Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, commanding stage/room presence, and a warm, professional demeanor.
Flexible Schedule: Availability to work evening hours, weekends, and occasional holidays when events take place.
Nice-to-Haves (Assets)
Prior experience in event hosting, hospitality, customer experience, performing arts, or recreation/leisure.
Serving It Right (SIR) certification or familiarity with BC liquor service standards.
Familiarity with Vancouver’s nightlife, social scene, and popular local venues.
Why Join Singles Date Vancouver?
Direct Impact: Help people step out of their comfort zones, make genuine connections, and build meaningful relationships.
Career Growth: Get in on the ground floor with a growing local brand, with a defined pathway to take on full-time event management, marketing, and operations responsibilities.
Competitive Pay: Hourly compensation
plus event bonuses and performance incentives.
Dynamic Environment: No two nights are the same - work in vibrant venues across the city.
