Job Overview
The
Corporate Finance Accountant will lead key financial planning, compliance, and operational finance initiatives. This role plays a critical part in company-wide budgeting and forecasting, supporting strategic financial operations, and acting as a liaison between finance and various departments. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and well-versed in both tax compliance and enterprise financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support comprehensive FP&A functions, including variance analysis, long-range planning, and strategic modeling.
- Develop and monitor corporate budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance across all tax areas, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
- Partners with finance and operational teams optimize processes, enhance financial visibility, and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to manage spending, align with budgets, and provide financial insight to operational leaders.
- Serve as the bridge between operations and finance teams, supporting project reviews, financial tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, monitor capital expenditures, and oversee related budgeting and reporting.
- Assist in maintaining insurance policies, renewals, and related financial documentation.
- Maintain and update the company’s project register, DPR reconciliations, and forecast models for both active and planned initiatives.
- Support the Corporate Controller in financial reporting, data analysis, and special project execution.
- Stay current on evolving financial and accounting regulations to ensure internal practices remain compliant.
- Collaborate with regional accountants and controllers to support local financial operations and ensure accurate reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and planning support for expansion into new markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- CPA designation considered an asset
- 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, accounting, or FP&A
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance, GAAP, and fixed asset accounting
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations and regional finance teams
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; SAGE expertise highly preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test, including cannabis
