Original job description

Social Media Creative LeadTHIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SOCIAL MEDIA JOB.

We're not looking for someone who simply schedules posts, writes captions, or knows their way around Canva.

We're looking for an exceptional creative with a sophisticated aesthetic eye, strong technical skills, and the ability to take content from raw footage and photography to polished, on-brand execution.

Someone who can select the strongest images from a shoot, professionally edit them, build a beautiful Instagram grid, refine a reel, and independently solve creative problems. Someone who can also manage the production process, coordinate a team, and make sure content gets approved and published on time.

WHO WE ARE

Skinfluence Marketing is a boutique creative and digital marketing agency specializing in medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, and wellness. We work with ambitious practices and physicians across North America to build premium brands and marketing that drives real business growth.

We are a lean, growing team with high standards. We care about the details, the work, and the results. Good enough is not our creative benchmark.

THE ROLE

As Social Media Creative Lead, you'll work directly with our Co-Founder & Creative Director, alongside our Content Manager, Graphic Designer, and Video Editor.

You'll own day-to-day social media production across multiple client accounts: visual curation, hands-on editing, calendar assembly, creative coordination, approvals, and publishing.

You will have a designer, editor, and content strategist supporting you. Your role isn't to do all their work. It's to bring strong creative judgment and hands-on skills to the process, keep production moving, and ensure the final output meets our standards without our Creative Director needing to intervene in every detail.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
1. HANDS-ON CREATIVE EXECUTION
  • Select, edit, colour-correct, and retouch photography for social media, email campaigns, and other digital assets.
  • Work confidently in Photoshop and Lightroom; maintain natural, authentic results, especially with clinical imagery.
  • Create and refine reel covers, stories, social graphics, and branded assets.
  • Make independent adjustments to crops, layouts, typography, colours, and formatting.
  • Handle simple video edits: selecting clips, trimming footage, captions, transitions, and short-form adaptations.
  • Step in and execute routine creative work rather than passing every adjustment to the designer or Creative Director.
2. VISUAL CURATION & BRAND STANDARDS
  • Review and organize raw photography and video to identify the strongest assets.
  • Build intentional, cohesive Instagram grids across distinct premium brands.
  • Balance photography, reels, carousels, and graphics with an eye for composition and storytelling.
  • Protect each client's visual identity; catch and fix anything that feels off-brand or unfinished.
  • Bring creative references, visual ideas, and ways to elevate the work.
3. SOCIAL MEDIA PRODUCTION & PUBLISHING
  • Assemble forward-planned monthly calendars using strategy and content briefs developed with our Content Manager.
  • Match content concepts to the right visuals and formats.
  • Write, refine, and proofread captions consistent with each brand's voice.
  • Prepare content for internal and client review; coordinate feedback and revisions.
  • Schedule, publish, and quality-check posts across relevant platforms.
  • Know what's in production, awaiting approval, and ready to go live - without being chased.
4. TEAM & WORKFLOW COORDINATION
  • Receive, upload, organize, and manage footage and photography after shoots.
  • Maintain clean, accessible client asset libraries.
  • Create clear Trello tasks and creative briefs for our Video Editor and Graphic Designer.
  • Assign work, track deadlines, review deliverables, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Identify bottlenecks early and solve them proactively.
  • Improve systems so our creative department can scale without sacrificing quality.
THE NON-NEGOTIABLES
  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment. Your portfolio must show premium visual taste - not just a collection of posts.
  • Professional photo editing. Strong Photoshop and Lightroom skills, including colour correction and retouching. Filters and presets alone don't count.
  • Hands-on ability. You can personally create and refine visual assets, not merely request them from others.
  • Social media expertise. You understand Instagram grids, content formats, calendars, publishing, and platform best practices.
  • Organization. You can manage multiple client accounts, assets, timelines, and approvals simultaneously.
  • Independence. You make sound creative decisions without needing constant instructions.
  • Attention to detail. You catch poor crops, inconsistent typography, weak imagery, typos, and off-brand execution.
  • Communication. You can write polished captions, brief teammates clearly, and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Ownership. You follow through, solve problems, and take responsibility for the finished product.
  • A portfolio showing what YOU personally created, edited, and curated.
TOOLS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut or Premiere Pro, Instagram/Meta Business Suite, Trello (or equivalent), and Google Drive. Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects are assets. Experience with luxury, beauty, skincare, medical aesthetics, or plastic surgery brands is a strong advantage.

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF...
  • Your experience is mainly writing captions and scheduling posts.
  • You call yourself creative but can't independently edit a professional photograph.
  • Your design skills stop at pre-made Canva templates or one-click filters.
  • You need someone to choose your images, approve every crop, or tell you how to arrange a grid.
  • You prefer delegating all creative work rather than doing any of it yourself.
  • You wait for instructions, miss deadlines, or need constant follow-ups.
  • You don't notice visual inconsistencies or consider details unimportant.
  • You resist constructive feedback or prioritize speed over quality.
  • You're looking for a strategy-only or community-management-only position.
  • You cannot show a portfolio of your own work.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF...

You genuinely love creating beautiful work. You have strong taste and the technical ability to back it up. You understand premium branding, can move between Photoshop and a content calendar without hesitation, and enjoy collaborating with a team while taking independent ownership. You notice the details others miss. You care about the finished product as much as the process.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 90 DAYS
  • Monthly content calendars are organized, forward-planned, and moving through approvals on time.
  • Photography selection, retouching, grids, reel covers, and routine creative fixes no longer bottleneck with our Creative Director.
  • Our designer and editor receive complete briefs and clear deadlines.
  • Published content consistently meets each client's brand standards.
  • You own production status and proactively resolve issues before they become emergencies.
HOW TO APPLY

A resume alone is not a complete application. Please email the following to hello@skinfluencemarketing.com:

  1. Resume highlighting relevant creative and social media experience.
  2. Portfolio (mandatory) featuring grids you've curated, photographs you've edited (before/after preferred), graphics you've created, and short-form videos you've edited. Clearly identify your personal contributions.
  3. Brief introduction explaining why you're right for this role.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical assessment covering photo editing, visual curation, content creation, and creative judgment.

We're looking for exceptional creative talent with the skills, taste, and ownership to prove it.
