About Sky X Flight Simulator

Sky X Flight Simulator is a flight simulation experience and aviation training business located in Mississauga, Ontario. We operate advanced flight simulation equipment, including an Airbus A320 fixed-base simulator and a Dash 8 Q400 flight training device.

We are looking for a technically skilled and motivated Flight Simulator Technician to help maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our simulation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot flight simulator hardware and software.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot X-Plane 12 and associated aircraft add-ons.
• Diagnose issues involving cockpit controls, displays, switches, and electronic components.
• Install, configure, and integrate simulator hardware, including flight controls, throttle quadrants, and instrument panels.
• Perform routine inspections, system testing, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot Windows PCs, graphics settings, USB devices, and peripheral connectivity.
• Assist with simulator upgrades, modifications, and hardware integration projects.
• Ensure simulators remain reliable and ready for daily customer sessions.

Qualifications

• Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with flight simulation platforms, particularly X-Plane 12.
• Understanding of USB controllers, electronic components, and computer peripherals.
• Basic knowledge of aviation systems and cockpit instrumentation.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with X-Plane plugins, configuration files, and simulator hardware integration.
• Familiarity with Airbus A320 or Dash 8 Q400 aircraft systems.
• Experience with flight simulation peripherals.
• Basic electronics, wiring, soldering, or Arduino experience.
• Knowledge of flight simulator cockpit construction or customization.
• Experience with 3D printing or CAD software is an asset.
