What You Will Be Doing
The Assistant Project Manager, Pre-Construction will lead and oversee diverse projects throughout the pursuit and pre-construction phases. This role is responsible for supporting effective project management practices, enhancing planning efforts, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects. As SKYGRiD continues to grow, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility while working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This position is based out of Head Office.

- Developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules using MS Project, from early works through occupancy, ensuring logical sequencing, realistic durations, and key project milestones.
- Reviewing logistics plans, phasing strategies, drawings, specifications, and consultant reports to identify constructability concerns, coordination issues, and potential project risks, while providing recommendations and alternative solutions.
- Leading procurement and tendering activities, including preparing scopes of work, coordinating RFPs, managing bidder communications, evaluating submissions, preparing bid recaps, and making award recommendations.
- Identifying drawing and specification deficiencies, conflicts, and missing information, and coordinating RFIs with consultants to resolve issues during the pre-construction phase.
- Analyzing design alternatives, materials, and construction methodologies to improve buildability, enhance project value, and optimize costs.
- Facilitating pre-construction meetings with clients, consultants, and trade partners, preparing meeting minutes, maintaining action item logs, and supporting the transition from pre-construction to construction operations.
- Maintaining project documentation in accordance with company standards, preparing project reports, supporting lessons learned initiatives, and contributing to the continuous improvement of pre-construction processes and tools.
- Perform additional assignments as required.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ of on-site construction experience on high-rise projects, from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, project delivery methods, procurement processes, and pre-construction activities
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and coordinate Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of industry practices, standards, and construction methodologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify drawing deficiencies, constructability concerns, and project risks.
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions and value engineering recommendations.
- Self-motivated, reliable, responsive, and adaptable, with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.

Pay Transparency
The estimated salary range for this role is $80,000- $110,000.
The posted salary range reflects the expected base pay for this role. Actual compensation will depend on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. SKYGRiD is committed to pay equity and transparency, and further details will be shared during the hiring process.
