Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Salary: $75,000–$100,000 CAD, depending on experience

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Recruitment Partner: Skyline Recruitment

The Opportunity

Skyline Recruitment is partnering with an established and respected environmental consulting firm in Mississauga to recruit a Project Manager specializing in Hazardous Materials and/or Occupational Hygiene.

This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate-level environmental professional looking to take greater ownership of projects, develop client relationships and continue advancing their career within a collaborative technical consulting environment.

We're particularly interested in individuals with experience in hazardous building materials, asbestos, designated substances, mould investigations, indoor air quality or occupational hygiene.

You do not need experience across every discipline. Candidates with a strong background in either hazardous materials or occupational hygiene are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental consulting projects from initial planning and proposals through fieldwork, reporting and completion.
  • Coordinate hazardous materials assessments, designated substances surveys, mould investigations and/or occupational hygiene assignments.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, resources and technical deliverables.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals and recommendations for clients.
  • Coordinate field technicians, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard.
  • Support junior team members through technical guidance and project coordination.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable Ontario regulations, industry standards and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally 5+ years of relevant industry experience in environmental consulting, hazardous materials, occupational hygiene or related disciplines.
  • Previous project management or project coordination experience, including responsibility for budgets, scheduling, technical deliverables or client relationships.
  • Practical experience in at least one of the following:
  • Asbestos, lead, designated substances and hazardous building materials assessments.
  • Occupational hygiene, exposure assessments and workplace monitoring.
  • Indoor air quality, mould investigations and remediation oversight.
  • Strong organizational, communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and coordinate with clients and field personnel.
  • Relevant post-secondary education in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering or a related field is preferred.

Candidates currently working as Project Coordinators, Project Technologists or Environmental Consultants who are ready to transition into a Project Manager position are also encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive base salary of approximately $75,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
  • Permanent opportunity with an established environmental consulting business.
  • Exposure to diverse hazardous materials and occupational hygiene projects.
  • Opportunities for technical development, client engagement and increased project ownership.
  • A supportive environment where you can continue developing your project management career.
