Vice President, Exploration – Multiple Confidential Opportunities

Skyline Recruitment is currently representing several mining and exploration companies on confidential senior leadership appointments across Canada and North America.
We are interested in connecting with experienced Vice Presidents of Exploration, Heads of Exploration, Exploration Directors and senior Exploration Managers who may be open to discussing their next leadership opportunity.
The specific mandates vary by company, commodity, jurisdiction and stage of development, but generally involve responsibility for leading exploration strategy, technical teams, budgets and programs across advanced exploration and/or operating assets.
Typical Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the company's overall exploration strategy.
- Manage significant annual exploration budgets and multi-disciplinary technical teams.
- Oversee regional and project-scale exploration programs from target generation through resource definition.
- Provide technical leadership across drilling, geological modelling, resource development and project evaluation.
- Recruit, mentor and develop exploration and geology teams.
- Work closely with executive leadership, operations, resource geology and project development teams.
- Evaluate new projects, acquisitions and growth opportunities.
- Present exploration strategy, results and recommendations to senior management and, where applicable, Boards and investors.
- Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, communities, contractors and technical partners.
- Ensure exploration programs are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
We are particularly interested in professionals who offer:
- Significant progressive experience within mineral exploration and mining.
- Previous leadership of substantial exploration programs, teams and budgets.
- A strong technical foundation in economic geology and mineral exploration.
- Experience progressing projects through multiple stages of the exploration and development cycle.
- Strong commercial judgement alongside technical capability.
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and/or assets.
- Strong communication and executive-level stakeholder management skills.
- A B.Sc. or advanced degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
- Professional geological designation where applicable.
Previous experience at VP, Director, Head of Exploration or senior Exploration Manager level is highly desirable.
