- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Responsibilities
Read blueprints and prepare code-compliant layouts, then measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join construction materials. Build and install structural components and fixtures, coordinate site work, estimate costs and materials, and maintain, repair, and renovate buildings and wooden structures.
Requirements
Requires a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience. The role is on-site and involves carpentry and framing work across residential and other establishments.
