Original job description

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and operate LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and data center networks across our offices, sites, and cloud environments
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, or similar)
  • Run enterprise wireless: site surveys, controller and cloud-managed APs, guest and IoT segmentation, and roaming that actually works
  • Connect and secure hybrid cloud networks across AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPCs/VNets, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, transit gateways)
  • Support zero-trust and SASE initiatives with security teams: segmentation, ZTNA, secure web gateways, and firewall policy
  • Monitor performance and capacity with SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, PRTG, Splunk, or similar, and fix problems before users notice
  • Troubleshoot outages using packet captures, flow data, and logs, then drive the root-cause fix
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, site openings, and cutovers using clear change management
  • Automate repetitive work with Python, Ansible, or Netmiko, so config changes are repeatable and tested
  • Manage carriers and circuits (ISPs, MPLS, broadband, LTE/5G backup), including orders, outages, and renewals
  • Keep accurate network diagrams, IP address management (IPAM), and runbooks
  • Support audits and compliance (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and provincial or industry requirements) with clear documentation

Find your level

  • Level Typical experience What you’ll own
  • Network Engineer I - 0-2 years : Monitoring, troubleshooting, routine changes, and documentation, learning our architecture with a dedicated mentor and a paid CCNA plan
  • Network Engineer II - 2-5 years : Owning network domains (campus, WAN, wireless, or data center), leading projects and cutovers, building automation, mentoring
  • Senior Network Engineer - 5+ years : Designing enterprise networks, setting standards, leading major initiatives and incident response, shaping the roadmap

Promotion criteria are written down at every level, with regular career conversations. Many of our senior engineers started at Level I and moved on to network architecture, cloud networking, or network security.

What you bring

  • Clear communication in writing and on an incident bridge call
