Original job description

What you’ll do

Build and maintain backend services and APIs with Python using Django, Flask, or FastAPI
Design data models and efficient queries across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis
Develop data pipelines and ETL workflows with Airflow, Pandas, Celery, dbt, or Spark
Automate processes, integrations, and internal tools that save the business hours every week
Deploy to AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
Write clean, well-tested code with pytest, type hints, and thoughtful code reviews
Integrate third-party APIs and build reliable, secure, scalable services
Work with data and ML teams to productionize models, including LLM-powered features
Monitor, debug, and optimize performance in production
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA in Agile teams from idea to launch
Handle personal information responsibly, in line with PIPEDA and provincial privacy requirements

Developer II - 2-5 years : End-to-end feature delivery, API and data design, code reviews, mentoring newer developers
Senior Developer - 5+ years : Architecting services, setting technical direction, leading projects, raising engineering standards

Promotion criteria are written down at every level, with regular career conversations. You can grow as a technical expert or toward leadership. Both paths are real here.
