Smoking Gun Interactive, a Keywords Studio, is an industry-leading game development studio founded in 2007 by award-winning industry veterans. SGI is fearless in creating IP and boldly partners with renowned brands to develop a wide range of world-class, immersive titles and interactive experiences that resonate with strategy gamers worldwide and entertain millions of casual players every day.

Job Overview:

As a UX Designer with Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), you will focus on creating intuitive, engaging, and seamless experiences for players.

*Whilst this position is being offered on a remote basis, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently located within the greater Vancouver area

In this role, you will:

Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that communicate the user experience and functionality of our games
Design and iterate on game mechanics, player flows, and user interfaces
Conduct user research to understand player’s needs and preferences
Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights
Work closely with game developers to ensure the user experience is implemented to a high standard
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business goals and player feedback
Help establish and maintain design standards for the studio
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging design patterns

To be successful in this role, you must have:

3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer in the game industry;
A strong portfolio with at least one shipped mobile and PC game title (**portfolio must submit to be considered**);
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and prototyping tools;
Experience with user research, A/B testing, feedback loops and data analysis;
Strong knowledge of game development, game design principles and developing interactive interfaces in game engine;
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
Bachelor’s degree in user experience, graphic design or related field.

It would also be great if you had experience with:

User research, usability testing, and data analysis but must also be effective when these materials are not available
A generalist game design background
