Are you a 3rd Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician looking to take the next step in your career? As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you'll help keep some of the largest and most advanced earthmoving equipment operating safely and efficiently.
In this role, you'll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support equipment reliability while working alongside a team that values safety, technical expertise, and continuous improvement. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving and takes pride in delivering quality work.
Base Wage: $48.62 - $54.02 per hour. Additional premiums apply.
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shift Rotation: 7x7 (Days only)
What You’ll Do
- Perform equipment assembly, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions using computerized diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Determine repair requirements and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete job-specific reports, service documentation, and related paperwork.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety in all work activities.
- Work in remote environments and adverse weather conditions as required.
- Perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
What You Bring
You bring Registered 3rd Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice status or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification along with at least one year of experience working on construction equipment. You are committed to safe, reliable work and enjoy applying your technical skills to support equipment performance and customer operations.
- Experience performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel and meet customer site requirements, when required.
- Ability to adapt to evolving equipment technology and diagnostic systems.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Komatsu equipment
