Labourer

Start your career in the heavy equipment industry as a Labourer with SMS Equipment. You’ll play an important role in keeping equipment, the wash bay, and shop areas clean, organized, and ready for safe, efficient work. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and ready to contribute through hands-on work.

This is an opportunity to build practical experience in a fast-paced shop environment while working alongside experienced technicians and learning more about heavy equipment.

Base Wage: $30.27/hour
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

What You'll Do

As a Labourer, you’ll support day-to-day shop activities by:

• Washing and cleaning heavy equipment, including removing mud, grease, and debris.
• Painting service equipment and parts as required.
• Assisting technicians with component removal and material handling.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free wash bay and shop area.
• Using basic tools and equipment, including forklifts and hoists, under supervision.

What You Bring

You bring a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of related industry experience or equivalent education and experience, along with a safety-first mindset and willingness to learn.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic understanding of heavy equipment or willingness to learn.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift training.
• WHMIS training.
• TDG training.

Pre-Employment Requirements

This position is safety sensitive. Candidates may be required to complete:

• Pre employment medical questionnaire
• Drug and Alcohol test
• 5 Year Commercial Drivers Abstract
