The Smurfit Westrock Mississauga facility is looking for a Flexo Helper Starter to work with the Press/Printing team on the night shift. This position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the printing press. 

How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety policies.
• Obtain and understand production docket according to print schedule.
• Ensure all appropriate supplies are at the press – ink, plates, stock, etc.
• Assist Pressman in the mounting of plates, sleeves, anilox rolls, die if applicable.
• Comply with all SOP’s and Quality Procedures.
• Cleaning of ink chambers. 
• Changing anilox blades. 
• Topping up ink chambers with fresh ink.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing or production industry
• Experience working with Radius and Microsoft Office (ie. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) considered an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift on a concrete floor and ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.

• Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Shift premiums apply to afternoon and night shifts.
