Smurfit Westrock has a job opportunity at our NEW Tube facility in Mississauga, Ontario. We are looking for a Production Machine Operator to join our new facility.
We are searching for candidates that can speak Italian and are willing to travel to Italy for 2 to 3 weeks to learn and train how to operate the machine. The candidates will then return to our Mississauga facility where they will be part of a new start up plant and operator the Tube Machine.
Position Overview
The Tube Form Machine Operator is responsible for safely setting up, calibrate, and operate tube forming machines to convert raw paperboard into precise cylindrical tubes according to strict customer and job specifications in a fast‑paced production environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate excels in a team setting, requires minimal supervision, and brings hands‑on experience with manufacturing machinery.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Tube manufacturing experience considered a strong asset
- Folding carton gluing or die‑cutter experience preferred
- General manufacturing experience preferred
- Machine setup experience preferred
- Safety‑oriented mindset with consistent adherence to safety protocols
- Team‑focused with the ability to work collaboratively
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email
- Proficient in basic measurement tools, including calipers, verniers, and metric/imperial tape measures
- Pay Rate: Operator - $33/hour
