We are looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) to join our Central Fill Pharmacy team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment focused on the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation and distribution of prescriptions to our retail pharmacies.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:
RPT’s will have independent authority, responsibility, and liability to prepare, process and compound prescriptions including:
- Perform technical duties within the Central Fill pharmacy, including prescription processing, filling, checking, packaging, and order preparation.
- Operate and monitor automated pharmacy equipment and technology, including VBM blister packaging, vial filling automation, and other automated systems.
- Complete final product verification in accordance with Alberta pharmacy standards and company policies.
- Ensure prescriptions are prepared accurately and efficiently while maintaining high quality and patient safety standards.
- Perform inventory management, including receiving, stocking, replenishment, and identifying medication shortages.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and workflow issues and escalate concerns when required.
- Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Support narcotic and controlled drug handling in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, technicians, and retail pharmacy teams.
- Assist with training and mentoring pharmacy assistants and other team members.
- Follow all pharmacy, workplace safety, privacy, and operational policies and procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help maintain an efficient Central Fill workflow.
What you bring to the table:
- Licensed and in good standing as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
- Previous pharmacy experience; Central Fill or automated pharmacy experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with pharmacy technology and automated equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily production and service targets.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality, and professional standards.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Rotating schedule: 2 weeks of 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, followed by 2 weeks of 1:00 PM–9:00 PM.
- Saturdays off.
- Alternating Sundays: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
