About This Role
The purpose of this position is to design, configure, validate, and support electrical systems for power distribution products by converting customer and project requirements into safe, accurate, manufacturable, and standards-compliant solutions. This role supports both Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Configure-to-Order (CTO) activities through electrical design development in E-Plan, technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product delivery, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Design electrical schematics in E-Plan based on customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
- Prepare and maintain drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, as-built documentation, and engineering release packages for Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Configure-to-Order (CTO).
- Develop engineering validation test plans and production test procedures; support technicians during testing and troubleshooting.
- Support prototype assembly, production work packages, installation instructions, cable/wiring inquiries, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems and meet project deliverables.
- Support NRTL certification and compliance documentation for new product lines.
- Provide technical input for estimating, bidding, and customer proposals; recommend improvements based on industry trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Master degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng designation, or working toward P.Eng, is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing and developing electrical systems, including 2-3 years of hands-on prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, or production support.
- Experience with power distribution systems, electrical panels, controls, and industrial manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting ETO and/or CTO projects in a manufacturing, power distribution, or industrial equipment environment.
- E- Plan schematic design; electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, schedules, and technical specifications; NEC, CEC, NFPA, UL 891, UL 1062, UL 1008S, UL 508A, and UL 1561; PLCs and industrial communications (Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet); ERP, ECN, and Quality Management System processes; MS Office and Google Workspace.
- Self-motivated team player with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
Upon request, we will provide reasonable accommodation for disabilities to support participation of candidates in all aspects of the recruitment process. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
