Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact

Reporting to the Vice President, Client Growth, the Director, Client Growth drives retention, renewals, and profitable growth across a portfolio of strategic client accounts. This role builds trusted executive relationships, identifies growth opportunities, and leads account strategies that strengthen partnerships and expand Sodexo's presence. Success is achieved through close collaboration with Operations and business leaders to deliver long-term client value and business results. This position requires regular travel across Canada to support client relationships, strategic reviews, and growth initiatives.

As a Director, Client Growth, you will:

Lead Portfolio Growth Strategy & Account Planning

Translate Sodexo Canada's client growth strategy into clear, measurable account plans aligned with client priorities and commercial objectives.
Develop and maintain comprehensive account plans, stakeholder maps, opportunity roadmaps, and action plans.
Prioritize resources and executive sponsorship based on account value, risk, renewal timing, and growth potential.

Drive Client Relationships & Strategic Governance

Serve as the strategic relationship lead for an assigned portfolio of national and multi-site clients.
Build and strengthen executive and C-suite client relationships while expanding Sodexo's web of influence.
Plan and facilitate strategic business reviews, governance forums, and executive meetings.
Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure commitments are delivered and client expectations are exceeded.

Manage Retention, Renewals & Portfolio Risk

Own account retention strategies, renewal planning, and portfolio risk management.
Monitor account health through client feedback, market intelligence, contract performance, and competitive insights.
Lead renewal and rebid strategies in partnership with Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, and executive sponsors.
Support at-risk accounts through proactive recovery planning and corrective action management.

Deliver Organic Growth, Cross-Selling & Performance

Identify and qualify opportunities to expand services and increase share of wallet within existing client relationships.
Develop compelling business cases and value propositions aligned to client priorities.
Manage the growth pipeline from opportunity identification through negotiation, closure, and transition to Operations.
Track and report on retention, growth, profitability, client satisfaction, and pipeline performance metrics.

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field; MBA considered an asset.
10+ years of experience in strategic account management, business development, consultative sales, client retention, or commercial leadership.
Proven success managing complex B2B, national, or multi-site client portfolios and delivering measurable growth and retention results.
Experience building relationships with executive and C-suite stakeholders and influencing decision-making in a matrixed environment.
Strong commercial acumen, financial literacy, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results through collaboration and influence.
Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft 365, data analytics, pipeline management, and financial reporting tools.
Experience in food services, facilities management, or operational services is considered a strong asset.
English required; French-English bilingualism is strongly preferred.
Willingness to travel approximately 25% to 40% within Canada.
