Project Manager, HR AI Projects – Contract – Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
We’re hiring a Project Manager to lead delivery of HR AI, automation, and HR technology enhancement projects. This is a contract with a hybrid setup, 3 days a week in a Toronto office.
What you’ll do
- Lead HR AI, automation, and HR tech projects from planning through implementation
- Build and maintain project plans covering milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions
- Gather and validate business requirements, then turn them into user stories and acceptance criteria
- Run Agile ceremonies: backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retros
- Keep backlogs, work items, and delivery status up to date in Azure DevOps
- Coordinate stakeholders across HR, technology, AI, data, and delivery teams
- Prepare regular status reports for HR Technology leadership
- Support UAT, deployment readiness, and handover to operations
What you bring
- Experience managing AI, automation, data, or analytics projects from start to finish
- Strong requirements management skills
- Agile delivery experience with cross-functional teams
- Hands-on Azure DevOps experience, or a comparable work-management tool
- Clear communication with both business and technical audiences
Nice to have
- HR or HR technology project experience
- Workday or another enterprise HR platform
- Familiarity with HR processes across recruiting, talent, learning, or workforce planning
- UAT, change readiness, and adoption experience

Responsibilities
Lead HR AI, automation, and technology enhancement projects from planning through implementation, maintaining project plans and coordinating stakeholders across HR, technology, AI, data, and delivery teams. Manage Agile ceremonies and delivery tracking, report status to HR Technology leadership, and support user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, and operational handover.
Requirements
Candidates should have end-to-end experience managing AI, automation, data, or analytics projects, strong requirements management skills, and Agile delivery experience with cross-functional teams. Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or a comparable work-management tool and clear communication with business and technical audiences are required; HR technology, enterprise HR platforms, and change adoption experience are advantageous.
