We’re hiring: Senior Windows Server Engineer

Our client runs a trading environment on Windows Server 2016/2019/2022. They need a senior engineer to own it across the Americas region for all business lines.

What you’ll do

  • Architect, build and support production Windows servers, including Microsoft Failover and stretch clusters
  • Monitor virtual environments for capacity, stress and workload, and fix issues before they hit the desk
  • Run DR and business continuity for the region
  • Provide L1 through L3 production support and take ownership of incidents
  • Handle upgrades, OS and security patching, and daily morning checks on critical apps
  • Work with application teams, vendors and global infrastructure groups on new builds and projects

What you bring

  • 10+ years in Windows Server engineering (2012 through 2022)
  • Deep knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, clustering and load balancing
  • VMware vSphere, vCenter and SRM
  • SAN/EMC storage, including SRDF
  • Server builds on HP, Dell and IBM hardware, including blades
  • Solid TCP/IP, SNMP, subnetting and routing
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Sybase and MQ Series

Big pluses: Hyper-V, IIS, .NET, F5, Dynatrace, Geneos

Heads up: this role includes weekend work and a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Candidates should also have experience with SAN/EMC storage, HP, Dell, or IBM server hardware, networking fundamentals, and working knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Sybase, and MQ Series; weekend work and a 24x7 on-call rotation are required.
