Original job description

Company Description

Solactive AG is a FinTech company operating globally and growing at a fast pace, headquartered in Frankfurt. Since 2007, we develop tailor-made and multi-asset class index solutions for ETFs and other index-linked investment products for the leading global investment banks and asset managers as our clients. Flexibility, efficiency and providing the highest quality are at the heart and soul of our business philosophy. We are now hiring!

Job Overview

Are you passionate about investing, portfolio management, and capital markets? Do you keep a pulse on the latest trends in thematic & benchmark indices, ETFs, structured products and innovative investment strategies? We are looking for a resourceful self-starter with a quantitative academic background, professional experience in equity markets, derivatives, or index maintenance, and a curiosity for trends in investing. If you thrive on data-driven analysis, idea generation, and client collaboration, you will fit right in. Work with us in an international, fast-paced environment where analytical rigor meets clear communication.

Your Tasks

As part of the Client Relationship Management & Advisory team, proactively cultivate relationships with a global client base, identify new business opportunities, and act as a trusted advisor to deliver exceptional client service and long-term partnership value.
Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of benchmark and thematic equity indices, balancing execution with an understanding of the underlying investment strategy to ensure accuracy, stability, and timely delivery across all rebalancing cycles.
Execute systematic, rules-based selection and rebalancing of both Solactive and client indices.
Conduct research on thematic investment trends and apply quantitative, rules-based approaches for index selection, weighting, and systematic rebalancing.
Act as a key contact and trusted partner for an international client base in both North America and Europe, including leading investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and trading desks - translating complex thematic & benchmark concepts into clear, actionable insights.
Enhance and maintain index algorithms and deterministic models within the company’s framework.
Identify and implement robust and scalable improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in index management.
Collaborate closely with data engineers, business analysts and developers throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your Profile

Academic degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, or Engineering.
Experience in managing and fostering client relationships.
At least 2 years of experience in equity markets execution, portfolio management, index management, or in a similar process-driven financial environment, with exposure to quantitative models, portfolio concepts, or systematic investment strategies.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to clearly explain investment concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with thematic & benchmark investing concepts, benchmarks, investment strategies, portfolio optimization or a related field.
Innovative, analytical thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and high attention to detail.
Highly organized, capable of managing multiple operational cycles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and intercultural competence.
Proficiency in Python is required while experience in VBA, MATLAB, or SQL is an asset.
Fluency in English is required while proficiency in other languages such as: French, German, or Spanish, is an asset.

Our Offer

Global Team: Join our highly motivated international team with colleagues from around 50 different nationalities.
FinTech Excellence: Delve into the inner workings of a thriving FinTech company.
Connect with Colleagues: Be prepared for a unique opportunity to travel to Solactive's other global offices in Europe and North America, where you can meet and collaborate with your fellow professionals.
Modern Culture: Enjoy our modern, flat hierarchy, and startup-like culture.
Special Benefits: Healthcare coverage, modern office space.
Community & Networking: Engage in our various networking and social events.
Flexibility: Embrace a flexible work culture with the freedom to choose your working hours, including a hybrid work model, all within a diverse and dynamic environment.
