  • Work closely with senior advisors on larger, more complex client relationships, acting as a second chair in meetings and strategic discussions.
  • Participate in structured client transitions, building trust and continuity while maintaining a high standard of client experience.
  • Deliver ongoing financial advice through regular reviews, proactive outreach and life-event planning.
  • Reinforce retention through responsiveness, professionalism and consistent value-added advice.

Financial Planning and Holistic Advice

  • Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive risk-management strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal tax expertise and external accountants and lawyers on complex client structures and tax-optimization strategies.
  • Translate sophisticated planning strategies into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through expanded planning and advisory services.

Portfolio Construction and Investment Implementation

  • Implement and manage client portfolios in collaboration with third-party portfolio managers and the broader AFS platform.
  • Keep portfolios aligned with client objectives, risk tolerance and long-term financial plans.
  • Support portfolio reviews and performance discussions, clearly explaining investment strategy and positioning.
  • Maintain discipline around asset allocation, rebalancing and suitability requirements. Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure client interactions and recommendations comply with regulatory standards, including NI 31-103, KYC, KYP and suitability requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete client documentation and records.
  • Uphold fiduciary responsibility and ethical conduct.

Collaboration and Platform Integration

  • Contribute to a shared client experience within a collaborative, team-based advisory model.
  • Partner with senior advisors on complex client work and continuity across relationships.
  • Participate in team discussions, client strategy sessions and internal planning meetings.
  • Contribute to mentorship, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Business Development and AUM Growth

  • Grow a book of business through referrals, professional networks and centres of influence.
  • Identify and convert new opportunities among high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners.
  • Support onboarding and retention of clients from acquired firms and their transition to the AFS platform.
  • Contribute to growth in assets under management and deeper client relationships.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 12–18 MONTHS

  • Transition and manage a meaningful portion of existing relationships, allowing senior advisors to refocus on high-value clients.
  • Build client trust and establish credibility within the JV Financial practice.
  • Enable new-client onboarding without compromising service quality.
  • Integrate into the team-based model and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Progress toward independent client-relationship management and business development.

  • Self-motivated, highly productive and committed to continuous learning.
  • Able to deliver comprehensive wealth management in collaboration with colleagues and clients' professional advisors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, colleagues and centres of influence.
  • Able to prioritize a high volume of meeting preparation, execution, follow-up and other responsibilities.
  • Contributes to attracting new clients and assets from existing clients.
  • Proactively communicates workflow changes to the Partners and supports the team's objectives.
  • Exercises sound professional judgment about matters requiring Partner support.
