Join Sonova’s Manufacturing Engineering team as a Manufacturing Process Developer and help develop, optimize, and implement innovative manufacturing technologies that support our hearing care products.

In this role, you will focus on joining, surface, and encapsulation technologies for in-the-ear (ITE) products. Working closely with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering, you will drive process development, improve manufacturing reliability, and support the successful introduction of new products and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, with a focus on joining, bonding, surface treatments, and encapsulation technologies.

  • Conduct technology assessments, feasibility studies, laboratory testing, and manufacturing process development activities.

  • Collaborate with R&D and cross-functional engineering teams to support new product introduction (NPI), design transfer, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Characterize, specify, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes to ensure stability, reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Perform process and failure analyses, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing design guidelines, process documentation, and best practices that support Design for Manufacturing and Design for Quality.

  • Support production teams with technical expertise, non-conformance investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and process optimization.

More About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Microtechnology, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in surface and/or joining technologies, particularly bonding processes and applications.

  • Strong knowledge of materials science, materials analysis, manufacturing process development, and characterization techniques.

  • Hands-on experience conducting laboratory testing, technical investigations, feasibility studies, and process optimization.

  • Ability to analyze complex technical challenges, apply statistically reliable methods, and develop practical engineering solutions.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in medical devices or consumer electronics is preferred. Knowledge of process statistics, project management, SAP, or Minitab is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $91,200 – $114,000 CAD annually.

Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.

Additional Information:
