Responsibilities:
- Craft compelling design concepts by distilling complex problems and insights into clear, elegant solutions - from early ideation through to validated concepts and developer handover.
- Apply UCD and design thinking methods across the full process: wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, and journey maps.
- Contribute to Design Guidelines, design metrics, and success criteria at the Experience Design group level.
- Lead or participate in user research and evaluation at the appropriate stage, in close collaboration with the UX Research team.
- Own defined areas of the end-to-end experience. Collaborate with Design, PMs, and R&D to ensure seamless integration across the Sonova ecosystem.
- Support junior designers and contribute to a culture of quality and craft within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field
- 5+ years of experience designing digital products for web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
- Expert knowledge of user-centered design, UX research, and hypothesis-driven design methodologies
- Advanced proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-informed approach to design decisions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions and levels
- Self-motivated, organized, and highly effective in fast-paced, complex environments
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and leveraging AI-powered design tools
- Experience mentoring designers and promoting design quality and best practices
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing medical, healthcare, or other regulated digital products
- Familiarity with medical device compliance requirements, design systems, and design token workflows
- Understanding of hearing technology, audiology, or related healthcare domains
- Experience in a senior or lead UX design role
- Additional language skills, including German, are a plus
