- Collaborate with R&D and cross-functional engineering teams to support new product introduction (NPI), design transfer, and manufacturing readiness.
- Characterize, specify, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes to ensure stability, reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform process and failure analyses, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing design guidelines, process documentation, and best practices that support Design for Manufacturing and Design for Quality.
- Support production teams with technical expertise, non-conformance investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and process optimization.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Microtechnology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in surface and/or joining technologies, particularly bonding processes and applications.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, materials analysis, manufacturing process development, and characterization techniques.
- Hands-on experience conducting laboratory testing, technical investigations, feasibility studies, and process optimization.
- Ability to analyze complex technical challenges, apply statistically reliable methods, and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in medical devices or consumer electronics is preferred. Knowledge of process statistics, project management, SAP, or Minitab is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $91,200 – $114,000 CAD annually.
Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
