- Establish and maintain engineering standards for performance, security, reliability, code quality, and long-term platform sustainability.
- Manage and prioritize the Shopify technical backlog, evaluating feasibility, architectural impact, delivery complexity, and technical risk.

- Serve as the technical authority for vendor-delivered solutions, reviewing architecture, technical designs, code quality, and final deliverables.
- Lead technical RFP development, evaluate vendor proposals, and partner with Procurement and stakeholders on vendor selection.
- Manage vendor and agency relationships, including performance, delivery expectations, platform support, and technical escalations.

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.

- Experience with Git-based workflows, structured releases, Agile methodologies, and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.
- Proven experience managing technical vendors, agencies, and external partners while holding them accountable for quality and delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong decision-making, problem-solving, and project leadership capabilities.
