Business Intelligence Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and interpret business data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases.
• Develop data models, relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities using Power Query and other relevant tools.
• Create and maintain business reports, KPI dashboards, and performance monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Identify business trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities through data analysis.
• Automate recurring reports and streamline reporting processes.
• Present analytical findings and actionable insights to management and stakeholders.
• Maintain proper documentation of dashboards, reports, data models, and business logic.

Required Technical Skills

• SQL: Strong knowledge of SQL queries, Joins, Subqueries, CTEs, Views, Stored Procedures, and Window Functions.
• Power BI: Expertise in dashboard development, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and report publishing.
• Microsoft Excel: Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and data analysis.
• Data Visualization: Ability to present complex data through meaningful charts, reports, and dashboards.
• Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehouses, relational databases, and ETL processes.
• Statistics: Basic knowledge of statistical concepts, data interpretation, and analytical methods.
• Python: Knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy is an added advantage.
• Database Knowledge: Familiarity with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in developing business dashboards and analytical reports.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting requirements and deliver results within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300) is an advantage.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting environments.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of business processes and performance measurement frameworks.
