Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Manage cloud environments across AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
• Manage compute, storage, networking, databases, IAM, and other cloud services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Automate operational processes using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure, applications, and services using appropriate monitoring and logging tools.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, performance, and deployment issues.
• Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, secrets management, and network security.
• Optimize cloud resources for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and disaster-recovery activities.
• Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform:
• AWS
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Good knowledge of:
• Linux/Windows administration
• TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing
• IAM and cloud security
• Virtual networks/VPCs
• Compute and storage services
• Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure-as-Code tool.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of Git.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
• Experience implementing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with serverless and managed cloud services.
• Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud certification.
