Overview

As an Assistant Media Planner, you will play an integral role in supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of media campaigns across a variety of channels. Working closely with planners, supervisors, and activation teams, you will help transform client business objectives into effective media strategies that drive measurable results.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious about consumer behavior, passionate about media and marketing, and eager to build a strong foundation within one of Canada's leading media agencies. You'll gain exposure to media planning, research, analytics, budgeting, and campaign stewardship while collaborating with cross-functional teams and media partners.

Responsibilities

Assist the Planners and Supervisors in managing and executing approved plans across all media
Assist in the development and organization of supportive data and media research for plans and recommendations
Gain an understanding of client and competitive business
Learn about Starcom proprietary tools, industry tools and platforms – develop a strong working knowledge on what they are and how to use them
Manage contracts/ insertion orders and any resulting revisions with media vendors through our campaign stewardship platforms: DDS/Prisma
Responsible for addressing discrepant media invoices
Assist with billing process
Responsible for updating blocking charts, budgets, and budget summaries
Update competitive media reports and technical support for presentation materials

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications preferred
Track record of success throughout post-secondary career and previous employment
Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
Solid verbal and written communication skills. An ability to tell a story
Technical proficiency, particularly with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
Detail-oriented and able to produce accurate work product

Salary

Transparency matters to us. The salary for this position is $40,000 CAD per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
