Role Description The Licensed Optician is a full-time, on-site role based in Milton, ON, responsible for delivering personalized eyecare and eyewear solutions to customers. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting prescriptions, advising on lens types and frame styles, fitting and adjusting eyewear, and ensuring accurate measurements and product selection. The role involves working closely with optometrists and other team members to support eye exams, clarify prescriptions, and coordinate follow-up services. The Licensed Optician will provide attentive customer service, educate customers on lens options and coatings, and help resolve product or service concerns. This position also supports store operations, such as maintaining product displays, managing orders, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive, and compliant clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge in Optics and Optometry, including interpretation of prescriptions and lens selection.
- Ability to support Eye Exams by collaborating with optometrists and guiding customers through the eyecare process.
- Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, with a focus on clear communication, empathy, and problem-solving.
- Current Optician license in Ontario and good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
- Experience fitting, adjusting, and repairing eyewear, with attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail clinical environment, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management or point-of-sale systems.
