Original job description
Spectrum Search is partnered with an established consumer legal services business to appoint a Head of Sales. This is an opportunity to own revenue performance, bring existing sales teams together and build a more predictable commercial operation supported by an entirely inbound pipeline.
About the opportunity
The company combines an established professional services offering with digital customer acquisition. Following substantial commercial growth, it is strengthening its sales leadership to improve conversion, develop its teams and support further expansion.
The business attracts significant inbound demand. Success in this role will depend on turning that demand into consistent revenue through effective coaching, accurate forecasting and disciplined sales execution.
The role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead approximately eight to nine sales professionals across several service lines, including qualified legal practitioners.
You will bring these teams under a consistent management approach, taking direct responsibility for revenue targets, forecasting, capacity planning and individual performance.
The sales model involves high volumes of consumer enquiries, relatively modest transaction values and short sales cycles, with many customers making a decision within one or two calls. This role suits a hands-on leader who understands how to improve performance within that environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own revenue delivery and translate commercial targets into hiring, capacity and productivity plans.
- Establish weekly pipeline and forecast reviews using customer relationship management (CRM) data.
- Build a structured coaching programme covering call reviews, role plays and one-to-one development.
- Improve conversion rates and consistency across teams and service lines.
- Recruit and develop sales professionals, setting clear quotas, onboarding plans and ramp expectations.
- Address performance gaps through clear feedback, coaching and accountable management.
- Work with Marketing, Growth and Legal Operations to improve lead quality, response times and customer handovers.
- Introduce practical processes that support expansion while maintaining visibility of commercial performance.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrable success leading high-volume consumer or small and medium-sized business sales teams.
- Experience managing short sales cycles, including transactions typically completed within one or two calls.
- Direct ownership of revenue forecasting, pipeline management and sales performance.
- Ability to translate ambitious revenue goals into realistic headcount and capacity requirements.
- Experience establishing regular coaching routines that improve individual and team results.
- Confidence using CRM data to identify conversion issues and guide decisions.
- Experience operating effectively in a smaller business or entrepreneurial environment, with a hands-on approach to building processes.
- Existing authorisation to work full-time in Canada without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in legal technology or selling legal or professional services to consumers.
- Familiarity with AI tools that improve day-to-day productivity.
Location and remote setup
This is a full-time position based in Toronto, Canada, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring approximately three days per week in the office. Visa sponsorship is not available.
