Original job description

Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment. We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 13 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites.

We are currently looking for a full-time Account Manager located in Dartmouth, NS, reporting to the Branch Manager, Atlantic Sign Graphics.

Your Challenge:

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, Atlantic Sign Graphics, the duties and responsibilities of the Account Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsible for financial and market share growth by achieving or exceeding the sales and gross profit dollar targets set during forecasting sessions and expanding account base
Promotion and sale of consumables, Printing and Finishing Equipment and other supplies (through prospecting, cold calling and existing clients)
Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and expand existing business.
Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts
Collaborate with internal teams such as Management, Operations, Customer Service and Marketing to meet customer needs.
Monitor account performance and sales targets.
Providing customers with information regarding new products, promotions, etc.
Addressing customer requests and complaints promptly and professionally
Conducting market research
Assist management in developing sales forecasts and offer recommendations for areas of improvement in Company strategies, markets, products, and service
Attending sales meetings
Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new clients
Participating in continuing education and staying abreast of developments in the applicable areas and on upcoming products and initiatives within client base
Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

Minimum 3 - 5 years of sales experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
Industry knowledge considered an asset
Strong oral, written and presentation skills
Ability to identify and maintain knowledge of key contacts within the region and establish multi-level relationships
Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Customer-focused mindset with problem solving capabilities
Proficient in using MS Office
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to develop key clients, agency and industry relationships at all levels;
Creative “out-of-the-box” thinking
Strong organization and time-management skills
Punctual, dependable, and reliable
Excellent teamwork and ability to work independently
Self-directed and self-motivated; and
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Working Conditions:

Able to work on a computer for numerous hours which may result in strain on wrists, eyes, back, etc.;
Ability to work in a busy, open area office;
May have to spend long hours in concentration which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
This position faces a number of deadlines which may cause stress; and
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
