Original job description

Job Title: Visual Merchandiser

Reports To: Director, Store Operations

The Visual Merchandising coordinator is responsible for partnering with multiple departments to improve merchandising and execution in Golf Town stores. This position requires great organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

Maintain visual standards guide, update and create new chapters when necessary & partner with Golf Guru on training.
Partner with merchants on overall visual merchandising strategy for all categories in the stores. This includes:
- Gathering of information.
- Reacting to introduction of new brands, key products, and merchandising ideas.
- Developing plan-o-grams and seasonal sets.
- Working with project managers on the development and prototyping of new fixtures and graphics
Responsible for the development of visual execution and visual training communication for the stores. This includes merchandising direction, assembly and delivery dates for seasonal sets, tests, prototypes, visual rollouts and storewide promotions.
Development of Communication includes:
- Assisting with setting up examples and photography when necessary.
- Formatting, writing, proofing, publishing & distribution of documents.
Responsible for managing deadlines, approvals, printing and delivery of communication.
Create and maintain a calendar /tracking system that coordinates all store environment activities, graphics, and projects.
Support stores by answering Visual Merchandising questions & fixing issues with a sense of urgency & expertise.

Essential Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of retail experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively and professionally with associates and vendors.
Strong technical acumen with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of CAD &/or CANVAS a benefit.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to travel internationally throughout Canada and the United States.
Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and exceptional time-management skills.
Diplomatic and creative thinking; strong initiative and drive.
Ability to reach, climb, bend over and lift to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Detail oriented & organized.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Collaborative work style & able to work with large cross functional groups.
Ability to see things at a distance, near (reading distance) and evaluate variations in color and hue easily and effectively.
