Original job description

Location - Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

BA requirement with payment / core banking experience.

The resource will need to:

Support account hosting and end-to-end accounting flows for Deposit business
Maintain the system of record for:
Customer accounts
Ledger postings
Balance management
Data Provisioning for Downstream Systems
Provide reliable and timely data feeds to downstream systems, including:
Account information (e.g., account status, product, ownership)
Transaction information (e.g., bookings, postings, history)
Balance information (e.g., available, ledger, intraday balances)
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and auditability

Perform end-to-end business validation on accounting workflows, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Validate vendor management processes, including onboarding, contract compliance, payment processing, and performance tracking.
Review and analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Identify, document, and track defects, discrepancies, and control gaps, ensuring timely resolution.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technology partners to ensure solutions meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles, including test planning, execution, and sign-off.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards (e.g., SOX where applicable).

Required Skillset:

Business & Domain Expertise

Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS basics, reconciliations, journal entries, financial controls).
Hands-on experience in vendor management lifecycle, including vendor onboarding, invoicing, payment processing, and contract adherence.
Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar ERP platforms).

Quality Assurance & Analysis:

Proven experience in BA roles with a focus on financial or operational processes.
Strong data analysis skills, with experience validating large datasets and financial transactions.
Experience with issue management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).

Technical & Tools:

Proficiency in Excel (advanced) for reconciliation, data validation, and reporting.
Experience with SQL or data querying tools (preferred).
Knowledge of process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
Support end-to-end system integration, including API, messaging, and data flows

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, vendor-driven environment.
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.

Nice to Have:

Experience in banking or financial services environments.
Exposure to risk and compliance frameworks.
Prior experience working with third-party vendors or managed service providers.
