We are seeking an Aviation Technical Trainer to join a growing team in Montréal. This position is ideal for a skilled aviation professional who is passionate about developing talent, sharing technical expertise, and ensuring technicians meet the highest industry standards.
Position Overview
The Aviation Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging and effective technical training programs within an aviation MRO environment. This role focuses on engine module maintenance, helping technicians build the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to perform safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and facilitate classroom instruction, workshops, and hands-on technical training focused on engine components and core maintenance modules.
- Prepare and manage the training environment, ensuring tools, equipment, materials, and safety standards reflect operational shop floor conditions.
- Administer and evaluate technical assessments and readiness evaluations, documenting trainee performance in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor trainee progress through defined learning paths, identify competency gaps, and provide coaching or corrective guidance as needed.
- Validate technician competency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing objective final sign-off for module qualification readiness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods through feedback and collaboration with technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience as a trainer or in a technical lead role.
- Diploma in a technical field related to Aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO); a Bachelor's degree in a related field is considered an asset.
- Strong technical competency in engine module maintenance, including teardown, inspection, and build-up activities.
- Broad industrial experience and solid understanding of aviation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of instructional techniques and adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of CFM56 engines is considered an asset.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player with a demonstrated focus on developing others.
- Proficient in both French and English (spoken and written).
