Original job description

About Us:

SSENSE is a global technology platform operating at the intersection of culture, community, and commerce. Headquartered in Montreal, it features a mix of established and emerging luxury brands across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, and Everything Else.

SSENSE has garnered critical acclaim as both an e-commerce engine and a producer of cultural content, generating an average of 100 million monthly page views.

About the Role:

As the Senior Manager, Process & Product, you will lead a specialized team responsible for shaping SSENSE’s Planning, Merchandising, and Creative platforms. Acting as the critical bridge between commercial stakeholders and software engineering, you will oversee the complete product lifecycle - from business process design and UI/UX architecture to complex tooling functionality. Ultimately, you will balance strategic portfolio governance, people leadership, and workflow optimization to translate commercial requirements into high-performing, AI-enhanced software capabilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with executive stakeholders to define and execute a 12-18 month technical roadmap for Planning, Merchandising, and Creative domains, aligning technology delivery with commercial objectives.

  • Coach a high-performing team of Product and Process Managers across user research, UI/UX prototyping, functional scoping, and rollout management.

  • Guide the team in delivering friction-free, intuitive UI/UX layouts and automated business processes that eliminate context switching and redundant data entry.

  • Direct the integration of advanced AI/ML capabilities (e.g., Generative AI asset creation, intelligent assistants, automated tagging) into core enterprise tools to maximize task velocity.

  • Serve as the principal liaison for platform health in executive reviews (S&OP/WBRs) while overseeing third-party vendor evaluations, SaaS integrations, and platform stability.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in product management, business process engineering, or digital operations (ideally in e-commerce/retail tech), with 3+ years directly managing digital delivery teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology, Computer Science, or related field (MBA preferred), along with a required Six Sigma Green Belt and Professional Product Management Certification.

  • Proven functional ownership of complex enterprise execution software, such as Assortment Planning Tools, Merchandising Engines, and Creative/DAM/PIM platforms.

  • Demonstrated track record of evaluating, designing, and shipping AI/ML-enhanced tools, automated content workflows, and predictive decision-support capabilities.

  • Deep technical understanding of end-to-end data flow, system integration, and vendor readiness (RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations).

What Sets You Apart:

  • Strategic Connector: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a unique ability to translate high-level commercial strategy into clear, executable engineering deliverables across a global matrix.

  • Forward-Thinking Visionary: A champion of modern technology who proactively designs productive "Human + AI" operational workflows while coaching peers on ethical AI applications.

  • Analytical Problem Solver: Highly capable of diagnosing systemic disruptions in complex workflows and implementing scalable technical or process-based solutions.

  • Executive Presence: Superior communication skills with the ability to confidently articulate complex architectural challenges and platform performance metrics to senior leadership.

  • Empathetic Coach: A dedicated people leader with a passion for mentoring senior team members, building digital excellence, and fostering a culture of direct accountability.

Why Join Us:

  • Extended health and dental benefits, including comprehensive mental health programs and coverage.

  • Parental top up program.

  • Generous employee discount on ssense.com.

  • Access to telemedicine and employee and family assistance program.

  • Savings and retirement plan matching contributions.

  • Gender Affirmation Coverage.

  • Opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies and an innovative team that’s pushing the boundaries of technology.

SSENSE is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. If you need special accommodations, let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you!
