SSP Canada operates several restaurants within the Ottawa International Airport. We are currently hiring Servers to work at our restaurants located inside Ottawa International Airport. At SSP Canada, our Servers enjoy engaging with our guests while serving hand-crafted beverages and delicious food. They have experience crafting beverages and serving them with attention to detail. Our restaurants are fast-paced and our Servers can work quickly with accuracy and deliver outstanding customer service without breaking a sweat!

Here are a few things you can expect if you join our team as a server:

  • Greet guests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner
  • Input orders into register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest
  • Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests at all times
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards

Skills And Other Requirements

  • One year serving experience required
  • Smart Serve required
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders. French Language an asset.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements.

Required

This position is located in a secure airport environment and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required. All candidates must be legally authorised to work in Canada and must be able to provide the necessary government-issued documentation required for airport security clearance. Responsibilities

Greet guests, take and enter orders, serve food and beverages, process payments, and provide courteous, accurate service in a fast-paced airport restaurant. Maintain bar setup and perishable supplies, follow liquor regulations, and complete cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards.

Requirements

At least one year of serving experience and a valid Smart Serve certification are required, along with basic food and beverage service knowledge and basic mathematical skills. Candidates must communicate in English, be legally authorized to work in Canada, and obtain the required airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC); French is an asset.
