Original job description

About SJC

SJC stands as Canada’s largest privately owned communications company, distinguished by its portfolio of leading media brands, including Toronto Life, Chatelaine, and Maclean’s. At SJC, creativity, technology and journalism intersect to deliver content that resonates and performs. From integrated creative studios and advanced ad-tech to a portfolio of iconic media brands, we craft and distribute award-winning stories for audiences and advertisers alike. Partnering with organizations across North America, we build marketing solutions that inform, inspire and empower on every platform - from print to emerging digital channels. Our influence - and a 22-year streak on Canada’s Best Managed Companies list - reflects a culture committed to excellence and constant evolution. About the Role

SJC is hiring a Programmatic Sales Executive to grow revenue for SJC Audience+, our new programmatic and first-party data platform. You'll own a book of brand-direct and agency accounts and sell programmatic and data solutions against English and French audiences, from PMPs and deal IDs to custom segment builds and data clean room partnerships. Day to day, you'll work with agency trading desks, planners and brand marketing teams to understand what they need, then build the right mix of audiences and inventory across Toronto Life, Chatelaine (English and French), Maclean's, FASHION, Today's Parent and HELLO! Canada. You'll report to the Director, Programmatic and Data Solutions, and work closely with our data, ad ops and editorial teams. The division is early in its growth, so what you hear in the market will directly shape what we build and how we sell it.

The best programmatic sellers don't push inventory. They solve problems for traders, planners and marketers who are tired of opaque data. SJC Audience+ gives you a product built on trusted Canadian journalism and the freedom to sell audiences as a real partner

What You'll Do

Manage and grow about 50 key brand-direct and agency accounts
Bring programmatic and first-party data solutions to agency trading desks, planners and brand marketing teams
Develop multi-level relationships within each account, from day-to-day buyers to senior leaders
Guide major advertisers through data clean room collaborations and grow them into strategic partnerships
Work with internal data and operations teams to scope, launch and optimize campaigns
Keep pipeline and forecasting clean in Lightfield, our AI-native CRM
Bring client insight back to the team to sharpen our offering

What You Bring

Required

4+ years in digital media sales, with a focus on programmatic, data or ad tech
Hands-on understanding of DSPs, SSPs, PMPs, deal IDs and audience data
Established relationships with agency trading desks, programmatic leads and brand-side data teams in the Canadian market
Comfort building credibility with everyone from junior planners to CMOs
A consultative approach and strong follow-through

Nice to have

Experience with Google Ad Manager
Familiarity with Optable or other data collaboration platforms
Working knowledge of data management platforms (DMPs)
Comfort using AI tools to support research, planning and proposal work

Why you'll love it here

You'll earn a competitive OTE with uncapped upside, and join early enough to shape how this division sells and grows, with clear paths to advance. Your product is brand-safe, differentiated and simple to activate. You'll have modern tools, supportive colleagues and a hybrid setup that respects how you work best.

Compensation, location and work arrangement

Base salary: $90,000 to $110,000, plus commission
Reports to: Director, Programmatic and Data Solutions
Hybrid, based at our Lawrence and Keele office in Toronto, with remote flexibility
