Qualifications

  • Graduate or enrolled in a Dietitians of Canada recognized two year Community College Program in Food & Nutrition Management or a four year Nutrition Undergraduate Degree.
  • Previous experience as a Dietetic Technician preferred.
  • Computer experience required ¿ Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, familiarity with diet office software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to effectively advise and counsel patients with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills ? both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.

Responsibilities

Advise and counsel patients while providing nutrition services in a diet office. Work independently and collaboratively, applying strong customer service, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Requirements

Applicants must be graduates of or enrolled in a Dietitians of Canada-recognized two-year college program in Food and Nutrition Management, or hold a four-year undergraduate degree in Nutrition. Previous Dietetic Technician experience and familiarity with diet office software are preferred; computer skills, WHMIS and occupational health and safety knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and satisfactory attendance are also expected.
