The Digital Project Manager III will be responsible for managing and overseeing various digital health initiatives. This role will also support the development of business cases, value assessments, and implementation plans for digital and AI-enabled initiatives, ensuring proposed solutions are aligned with organizational priorities, clinical needs, operational readiness, privacy and security requirements, and measurable benefits.
Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Large‑Scale Project Planning & Development
- Develop and contribute to business cases, options analyses, cost-benefit assessments, and executive-level recommendations to support investment decisions for digital health, AI, and technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
- Plan, design, and lead complex, hospital‑wide projects impacting multiple departments.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to define scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resourcing.
- Research best practices and analyze relevant data to support project proposals and decision‑making.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Project Implementation & Delivery
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation of large‑scale projects, ensuring effective execution and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and manage integrated project and communication plans.
- Establish best‑practice tools, standards, and processes to support successful delivery of multiple projects.
- Coordinate with Directors, Managers, Professional Practice, and support teams to align initiatives with corporate priorities.
- Track milestones and deliverables to ensure smooth and coordinated implementation.
People Leadership
- Lead and manage a project team of 10+ staff.
- Partner with Manager and Senior Director on workforce planning, recruitment, and team development.
- Build a high‑performing, inclusive team culture grounded in respect, trust, and collaboration.
- Delegate work effectively, coach and mentor staff, and support achievement of performance goals.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
- Oversee development and execution of project protocols and strategies involving complex or sensitive information.
- Ensure accurate collection, analysis, and documentation of project data.
- Lead project reporting and stakeholder communication, including chairing meetings and providing status updates to senior leaders and sponsors.
Quality Improvement & Performance Measurement
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Develop and implement a quality framework aligned with project goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish evidence‑based metrics and benchmarks.
Corporate & Cross‑Functional Responsibilities
- Represent the department and hospital on committees, workgroups, and corporate initiatives.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization.
- Perform cross‑functional duties as assigned.
Safety & Confidentiality
- Adhere to all patient and employee safety and confidentiality policies.
- Identify, report, and respond to safety risks and confidentiality breaches in accordance with hospital procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 8–10+ years of project management experience in a healthcare environment
- Experience evaluating and implementing patient‑facing applications and digital health solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in digital health research and grant/proposal writing; publication experience an asset.
- Experience supporting the evaluation, implementation, or deployment of AI-enabled tools, automation, or digital health solutions is an asset.
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, or an advanced degree in a related field preferred.Strong facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in ambiguous environments.
- Expertise in operational excellence, budgeting, quality improvement, change management, and process redesign (Lean/Six Sigma).
- Strong understanding of provincial healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and use of clinical data for improvement.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Plan, Teams).
- Detail‑oriented, solutions‑focused, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
