About the role: Head of Sales
This is a player-coach role, best suited for a hands-on sales leader who is comfortable being intimately involved in both selling and, eventually, leading a team.
You'll start as an individual contributor, working directly alongside the President to close deals. This initial phase is about learning the ropes: understanding the product deeply, mapping the competitive landscape, and getting a real feel for what actually drives a win in our market. There's no expectation that you'll be managing anyone on day one - the priority is to get close to the business first.
Once you've built that foundation, you'll shift into building out the sales org - starting with a small team of 2-3 sellers (AEs, SDR, sales support) - with a clear path to running the full sales function within ~12 months.
Responsibilities as the role matures:
- Build a lean, high-performing sales org from the ground up: AEs, SDR, sales support
- Install repeatable sales process - qualification, forecasting, deal review, CRM discipline
- Stand up a dedicated outbound prospecting motion (there isn't one today)
- Recruit, coach, and mentor a small but growing team - this is the heart of the role
- Own bookings, win rate, pipeline health, and sales-cycle time
- Leverage modern sales tools, including AI, to keep the function fast and efficient
- Work closely with the President and SVP Customer Success
What we're Looking For
- 5+ years of demonstrated sales experience in technology/SaaS, with a track record of owning a number
- Experience as a team lead or having managed a small team - you don't need formal management experience, but you should be ready and eager to take full ownership in a direct leadership capacity and have strong leadership potential
- Someone who has built or contributed meaningfully to sales process
- Proven success in an individual contributor role - you know how to close
- Comfortable being hands-on and in the weeds early, without needing to build an org on day one
- High agency: someone who creates momentum without being pushed, and treats problems as their own
- MUST be based in Vancouver and able to report into an office 2x a week
