This role focuses on CDN and edge reliability, web application security, website performance, monitoring, incident management, release engineering, and operational resilience.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience managing enterprise CDN platforms, troubleshooting high-traffic public websites, implementing monitoring solutions, and improving website availability and performance in an enterprise or regulated environment.
This is a build-and-run role offering the opportunity to establish reliability practices, monitoring frameworks, and operational procedures for a modern, vendor-managed platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage CDN and edge configurations, including caching, cache invalidation, DNS, TLS certificates, origin settings, and edge logic.
- Configure and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules, bot management, and web security controls.
- Implement synthetic monitoring, automated smoke tests, health checks, and alerting.
- Monitor website availability and performance using Core Web Vitals, Real User Monitoring (RUM), CDN logs, and synthetic testing.
- Lead incident response, troubleshoot customer-facing website issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Manage vendor escalations and coordinate incident resolution with third-party service providers.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines, Git-based deployments, release controls, and rollback procedures.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans for content sources, repositories, and CDN configurations.
- Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), availability targets, performance metrics, and recovery objectives.
- Identify and resolve performance issues involving JavaScript, CSS, third-party scripts, and web integrations.
- Establish configuration-as-code practices and automate operational procedures.
- Maintain operational documentation, audit evidence, access controls, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with development, security, network, production support, and business teams to improve platform reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise CDN platforms such as Akamai, Cloudflare, or similar technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of CDN caching, origin configuration, cache invalidation, edge logic, DNS, and TLS.
- Practical experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration, security rule tuning, and bot management.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, synthetic testing, and Real User Monitoring (RUM).
- Strong knowledge of web performance engineering, Core Web Vitals, browser rendering, and JavaScript performance.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration as code.
- Experience managing production incidents, root cause analysis, and service reliability.
- Understanding of disaster recovery, change management, access controls, audit requirements, and operational risk.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), particularly Edge Delivery Services (EDS).
- Experience supporting SaaS or vendor-managed platforms.
- Background in financial services or another regulated industry.
- Experience with SIEM integrations and centralized log management.
- Scripting experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of website accessibility and SEO.
- Experience supporting English and French digital experiences.
