Location: Toronto, Ontario, Hybrid (3 days a week in office)

Duration: November 9, 2026 – May 9, 2027 (possibility to extend)

Hourly Rate: $55/hour - $65/hour (based on experience)

Client: Public Sector

The purpose of this procurement is to engage an intermediate QA Specialist consultant who brings expertise across various testing disciplines and methodologies. The consultant will support the delivery of high-quality software solutions by contributing to executing testing activities at different levels of project delivery.

Responsibilities:

Providing software testing execution services across multiple domains such as:

• Functional Testing
• Regression Testing
• Test Automation
• Mobile Testing
• API Testing
• Performance Testing
• Testing of AI based solutions

Applying testing practices effectively within diverse development methodologies including:

• Waterfall
• Agile
• Hybrid approaches

Supporting testing efforts across various platforms and environments, including:

• On-premise systems
• Cloud-based solutions

The consultant will be required to collaborate and support senior roles such as Quality Assurance Lead, where responsibilities extend beyond technical testing expertise to include:

• Contribute to test planning and strategy development
• Support the oversight of quality assurance deliverables
• Stakeholder communication and reporting as required

The selected consultant must demonstrate proven experience in software testing, adaptability to different project contexts, and the ability to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

Key Deliverables

• Design and deliver detailed test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements and project objectives.
• Execute testing activities and document results for various testing types (functional, regression, integration, system, performance, usability, and UAT) across multiple platforms and environments.
• Maintain accurate records of test discrepancies and defects using designated QA tools and provide timely reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
• On as needed basis, develop and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Micro Focus/OpenText UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, and Serenity (BDD), etc.
• Collaborate with project team, business analysts and developers to create and manage test data and scenarios that support robust validation of business processes.
• Support the implementation of quality assurance processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices within Agile, DevOps, and traditional environments

Must Haves:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT related discipline. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications, including on-premise, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing, AI-powered QA agents using agentic AI, LLM and Chatbots.
• Experience in executing test cycles, analyzing results, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools like OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, etc. Experience with specialized AI testing tools such as: Applitools, Promptfoo, or similar.
• Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybrid environments

Nice To Have: Previous experience in executing testing activities on specialized platforms including:, ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, or equivalent would be considered a strong asset.

Additional Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications, including on-premise, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and mobile platforms.
• Experience executing various testing activities and coordinating with other team members as required to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical abilities in understanding business processes, information systems, web UI design and accessibility.
• Hands-on experience with all types of testing: Functional, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing - across web-based, mobile, and cloud platforms. Experience with API and AODA testing is considered an asset.

Technical Capabilities:

• Strong experience in executing test cycles, analyzing results, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools like OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence, etc.
• Experience in utilizing automated testing using tools such as Micro Focus UFT, TOSCA, Selenium, etc.,
• Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybrid environments
• Previous experience in executing testing activities on specialized platforms including: AI based solutions, ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, or equivalent would be considered a strong asset.
• Demonstrated capability in analyzing business requirements and user stories to design test scenarios, develop test cases and scripts, prepare test data, and assess results for quality assurance reporting.
