Location: Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada (Hybrid – On-site and Remote)

Contract Duration: October 26th, 2026 – March 31st, 2027, with potential extension

Work Schedule: 35 hours per week

Experience Required: 7+ years

About the Opportunity

Stafingo is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale business modernization initiative for a public-sector client in Canada. This role will focus on modernizing legacy systems, transforming business processes, and supporting the transition to a unified motor vehicle administration and driver services platform.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, project management, and change management professionals to gather and validate requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, support data migration, coordinate testing, and facilitate organizational readiness.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst with experience in complex system modernization, data conversion, business process transformation, and enterprise application implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder meetings.
• Analyze existing business processes and legacy systems to identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and alignment with the target solution.
• Facilitate business process mapping, workflow development, use-case documentation, and fit-gap assessments.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business representatives to validate solution designs and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
• Support system configuration activities, including business rules, user requirements, and security settings.
• Coordinate data migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, conversion rules, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on documented business and functional requirements.
• Coordinate and support system testing, defect tracking, issue resolution, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate defect fixes and confirm that the implemented solution meets business expectations.
• Collaborate with change management teams to support business process changes, organizational readiness, and end-user training.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, process models, workflows, use cases, user guides, and testing artifacts.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to support project delivery and successful implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution; a program of at least two years is required.
• 7+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst.
• 3–6 years of experience supporting complex, large-scale modernization projects.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, and validation.
• Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, business process analysis, workflow mapping, and business transformation.
• Practical experience supporting data migration, data mapping, data conversion, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
• Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts, as well as supporting test execution, defect management, and UAT.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, and change management professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with mainframe systems and legacy application modernization.
• Experience transitioning legacy systems to modern enterprise platforms.
• Previous public-sector or government project experience.
• Experience supporting organizational change management, end-user training, and implementation readiness.
• Relevant professional certifications in business analysis, project management, or related disciplines.
