About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Architect that will focus on Construction Administration to join our Landscape Architecture practice in Toronto. This individual will provide a key role in the delivery of complex, multi-year landscape architecture and public realm projects from detailed design through to construction completion.
Working closely with project managers, design leads, contractor teams, clients, and multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will carry out construction administration services, coordinate project delivery, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, schedule, and budget performance.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Toronto office, with a minimum of three days per week in-office attendance. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Key Responsibilities Construction Administration
- Carry out construction administration services for complex landscape architecture and public realm projects.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, change orders, site instructions, payment certifications, and deficiency reports.
- Conduct site reviews to monitor construction quality and compliance with contract documents.
- Coordinate project closeout activities, record documentation, and warranty reviews.
- Assure compliance with all health and safety protocols to Stantec’s requirements.
Project Communication & Coordination
- Working closely with the Project Manager, liaison between clients, contractors, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams as required.
- Identify issues proactively and coordinate to implement effective solutions to maintain project progress.
- Support Project Managers in overall project planning and execution.
Technical Production
- Support project production activities including construction detailing, specification coordination, and cost estimate development.
- Preparation and coordination of construction documents and technical deliverables.
- Ensure consistency with municipal standards, accessibility requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Qualifications Required
- Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university program.
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated experience in construction administration and project delivery.
- OALA Full Member or actively pursuing full membership and expected to obtain registration within the next three years.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration procedures and construction processes.
- Experience on municipal, institutional, park, transportation, healthcare, public realm, or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and project organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedules and budgets.
- Class G divers’ license and vehicle.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Land F/X.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Project.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu.
- Knowledge of OBC, AODA, CSA accessibility requirements, municipal standards, and contract administration best practices.
- Proficiency with construction documentation standards, specifications, and quality management procedures.
Preferred
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign and Photoshop.
- Experience with large-scale public infrastructure, parks, waterfronts, institutional campuses, healthcare facilities, or municipal capital projects.
- Experience supervising technical staff and coordinating consultant teams.

Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
