Original job description

We create great places and the connections that keep people and goods moving - whether by car, bus, train, plane, or on their own two feet. Working within the context of the communities we serve, we provide planning, engineering, and infrastructure management services that respond to our clients’ needs and improve the overall transportation experience. Join our team and help us keep communities connected.

Why Saskatchewan?

Build your career in a province where meaningful work and an outstanding quality of life come together. Saskatchewan offers welcoming communities, shorter commutes, accessible amenities, and abundant outdoor recreation throughout every season. You will have the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure that directly supports growing communities and regional connections. An example of impactful work that our local team has successfully completed recently is the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, Stimulus Program, where our team served as Owner’s Engineer and provided program management for a road improvement program worth over $300M. It is the kind of meaningful, large-scale transportation work you can be part of while enjoying the space, balance, and sense of community that make Saskatchewan a rewarding place to live and work.

In addition to working on impactful local projects within Saskatchewan, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects across North America and in particular, Canada West.

Your Opportunity

Our Transportation practice has an immediate opportunity for a Hydraulics Engineer in our Saskatoon or Regina office. We are seeking a highly motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and wants to contribute to exciting local, regional, national, and international projects. The successful candidate will work directly with senior project managers and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver current and future projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

Design stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open-channel conveyance, culverts, bridge hydraulics, and floodplain compensation measures.
Prepare and compile permit applications and technical reports for approval by regulatory agencies.
Participate in hydraulic and culvert projects from the proposal and planning stages through design and construction.
Continuously improve company tools, methods, and technical approaches.
Prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and drawings.
Apply project management expertise to monitor project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Coordinate with client project managers, design teams, and subconsultants to support effective project delivery.
Collaborate with Transportation staff and other disciplines to complete projects.
Assist with the preparation of proposals and work plans for new assignments.
Support business development initiatives to expand the client base within the office and market segment.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, project management, and project delivery, including the design of hydraulic and culvert projects.
Experience working with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways is considered an asset.
